Sensei Mark Lutman is Dojo Cho (Dojo Head) of the Koi Dojo, and holds the rank of 4th Dan, together with the title Hanshi, (Polished instructor or expert teacher)  Mark also holds Menkyo Kaiden (Mastery of the School) and has been practicing and studying martial arts for 50 years making him one of the most accomplished martial artists in the UK.

The Dojo is open to new students aged 18 and above who wish to study Ninpo Tai Jutsu and Koryu Bujutsu.

No previous martial arts experience is necessary and classes are suitable for men and women of all ages and abilities.

The Koi Dojo has 1000 square feet of matted floor, suits of armour, certificates, scrolls, traditional altar, toilets, changing rooms, book and DVD library, together with many traditional Japanese weapons.  The Dojo also has outside areas for summer training and large seminars, Kyudo (Japanese archery), Japanese falconry and 80 acres of wooded land to train in; making it possibly the best equipped Dojo in the United Kingdom.

Opening days and times are;

Monday evening from 8PM to 9.30PM

Wednesday evening from 8PM to 9.30PM

The second Sunday of every month from 1PM to 5PM

Weekly classes study Ninpo Tai Jutsu and Koryu Bujutsu, Sunday classes are for the study of associated weapons such as Bokken, Katana, Bo Staff, Jo Staff, Hanbo, Kusarigama, Shuriken, Kama, Yari, Naginata.

Private lessons are available on request.

The Dojo also holds frequent seminars and workshops on related martial art subjects, ladies self defence and is also open for private hire.
